Everybody has a Place: Tope Shaba

For some, the world is so small and they feel choked up by the crowd. Everything gets to them and the reasons for retrogression if there was any progress in the first place lies outside of them. It is a blame game: ‘Can’t you see what is going on, it’s man know man in here, I can never become this or that...’ The dirge goes on and on. That is the song of the dead being sung by vision-less mouths. They sing and attract negative energy to themselves. Little wonder their words have come to pass in the nothing they have to show for hard toiling and sleepless labour and others in this category have given up all together and have become lazy and liabilities to friends and families who have no choice but to bear the burden created by negative mindset and pessimism.

Nigeria is a difficult country, YES! But no be here we dey wey many country people dey make am? Pardon my un-English English. The saying that what you see is what you get cannot be discountenanced. A wise man once said that what lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. The day a man sees his/her uniqueness and the vacancy the world has left them to fill, that is the day of true freedom. The day the world takes a collective step forward by the action of one man. For every design there is a designer. Man looks delicately, deliberately and purposely crafted by a designer. To fail to recognize why you are here and what you were made to fulfil is to abuse yourself – not just with alcohol, sex and other vices but that failure of discovery of who you truly are is the abuse because every step taken thereon can never be right.

The point here is, everyone, no matter the place of birth, circumstances of birth, status at birth, whether born with wooden, golden or silver spoon, there is a space in this world only you can fill! This is not another make-them–feel-good write up. It is a call to action. Wake up and smell the coffee, time is passing! Think about it like dots, you connect it from the back forward. If you believe there is a place for you in this world and you are developing and preparing yourself to fully occupy that space, then you need not bother where the dots lead you because it will always connect through the path that leads to fulfillment and success as defined by your designer.

Steve Covey made a profound statement on the true purpose of man on earth and it is a good way to end this piece:

''You are here to live, to love and to leave a legacy and most definitely you have a place here.''
